Bees wax candles originated out of the bee-keeping industry. And not so unusual, they use to go hand-in-hand with bee-keeping. So it wouldn't be odd to see a bee-keeper selling his or her candle wares in conjunction with their honey products.

Beeswax candles a most natural choice.

The Sticky Truth about Beeswax

Beeswax is a very sticky product and therefore has to be combined with different candle additives to reduce their sticky personalities. One solution to this condition is to dip or roll the candles.

Using a special release agent on the inside of any candle mould helps beeswax candles achieve great results while being moulded. Unfortunately if you forget this agent your hard work and efforts in moulding these kinds of candles will all be for nothing.

Virtually speaking it is almost impossible to remove the set candle you create from any mould without this agent. This special release agent can most times be obtained from any candle making supplier as well.

Though if you dip your bees wax candles they will not need the release agent. Of course because you dip these kinds of candles expect them to be a little more expensive to make. Mainly because of the amount of wax needed to dip them into.

Working with beeswax candles is creative.

Paraffin verses Beeswax

Compared to paraffin wax candles, beeswax is expensive. So most often you see beeswax being added to paraffin wax candles to improve the burn time and overall quality of the candles created.

You find as you get into beeswax candle creation that one of the most convenient forms to purchase your materials in are sheets. The sheets can be found in of course their very natural brown color. However look as well for them in green, red, white, blue and various pastel versions of the former mentioned colors also.

Paraffin wax is made of a colorless, odorless by-product of oil refining.

Beeswax is made of a very natural substance obtain from the beehive.

Great Tips for Crafting your own Beeswax Candles

  1. Beeswax candles are beautiful. Joining sheets of candle wax will result in larger candles. Example: Butt two sheets together at the ends to join. Pinch along the joined area with your fingernail to secure. Then roll.
